Jobs Galore~

Hi Everyone...!!! I am very sorry as I was not able to update my blog recently because I was so busy with work.. Okay, I am now working temporarily in a Market Research company called Pulse Group. Sorry to my faithful readers whom repeatedly wrote their shoutouts in my cbox so that I will update my blog.. Anyway, here goes... Pulse Group is quite a pleasant place to work in.. It is situated in Jalan Ampang and the people there are somehow 'Interesting'.. Something I would like to elaborate later.. It all started off when my friend introduced me to a consultant from Adecco(Ms Sugu). After my Bali trip I was jobless for a few days until she called me and informed me about a job in this company. I wasn't that excited when she announced to me that I will be doing a survey job and worst of all, a survey officer as in my application I didn't even state that I wanted a job which requires communicational skills. I was hoping that she will offer me and administrative job but nevermind, I told myself that I will make do with the opportunity given to me. So I went to the interview and I don't whether this is called fate or what, I got to meet new friends from there onwards.. Two girls whom also applied for the job; Loshe and Tammie. Err... Loshe started to strike a conversation with me and we started talking like we knew each other like a week.. Ermm.. most of the time we were laughing and I was worried that the person who will be interviewing me will find us annoying.. but she was very funny..and suprisingly all three of us got the job and we can't wait to work together as we knew working days will be fun..

So, I started the job first with Tammie.. Our supervisor Johann gave us some training and unfortunately, the project didn't arrive until the following week and we were asked to go home first and only come back for work after they receive the project. Naturally, I and Tammie were furious and we felt being cheated as we didn't expect the working hours to be so inconsistent.. but anyway, thank goodness that the working hours are back to normal now.. Loshe came in the following week and it was exciting having her around as my days in Pulse Group became more colourful.. Loshe has a bad habit, she loves to annoy me and comes to my table and start doing her job on my table.. Not to mention that my bloody table is so damn freaking small which only fits a desktop.. You know those HELP library tables.. Yes..!!! it is the exact thing!!! but.. hahaa.. most of the time we will end up laughing.. the stupid jokes I make and the stupid jokes she will create to counter attack me.. Well.. about this job.. It is not that interesting la actually.. It is like you call people to survey them and out of 50 people you call a day, you'll only get 4-5 completes.. and it is quite taxing at many times when the receptionist pushes you away by saying that the manager is not available and so on.. and they will ask us to call them back and when you call them back they will be out for somethingelse.. basically we know that they were brushing us away..but we are not direct sellers what.. we are just doing a survey.. Well.. this job has taught me to be more patient and respond to negative ocassions professionally and maturely.. Hmmm... but if you guys think that it is easy to call people and survey them .. you are damn wrong!!! I was once those people who taught these people were annoying and jobless but when you put yourself in their shoes.. you'll understand.. firstly, they are just collecting data needed for their research and secondly.. the amount of negative remarks they receive from the people they call.. There was once this manager said into my face that she wasn't interested and slamned my phone or there was once this man did the survey three quarteredly and said he was not interested to do it anymore and more!!!So, think twice before scolding these people.. If you don;t want to participate, atleast have the courtesy to decline them politely.. Luckily, I did encounter some people who are nice enough to explain to me why they can't participate and thanked me for calling.. Although I didn't get a survey done but I felt kinda good and felt motivated to continue... The worst day was on last Wednesday.. Tammie got shouted at on the phone and the manager said that she will strangle her if she sees Tammie face to face someday and poor Tammie burst into tears.. Well, come on!!! We know you are facing pressure in the office but we surveyors are also humans.. That manager was not only rude but not professional as well..and she dares to claim herself working in the Human Resources field..

The people in Pulse are very interesting.. Let me list down the adjectives to describe them ; Desperate, kind, strict and arrogant.. desperate because people there go out of control when they see girls.. (if any of you from Pulse is reading this.. I am just stating this out because I am true to myself)..Kind as in.. some people are really nice to temp staffs like us.. Strict as in our COO is very particular about us doing our jobs but I respect him.. Despite being strict he is down to earth enough to talk to temp staffs like us and he didn't throw his weight around..There was once he actually chit chatted with me and Loshe in the lift asking us where we are having our lunch...haha.. coincidently he was going to KLCC too!..He is just doing his job by the way.. Which head of the company wouldn't want their company to perform its best?! Then comes arrogant.. Many of the staffs in Pulse treat temp staffs like us invisible or should I say,aliens???.. Actually we are situated at the other side of the company.. So everytime we come out to take a cup of water or to go to the toilet, they will look at us one kind like we were zoo animals.. and one thing about temp staffs is that we are not authorised with a pin to enter the office so we have to rely on the other staffs to open the door for us.. and when we press the bell they will act as if they are doing their work and try to avoid looking at the door.. but not everyone is like that there.. So.. thank god!

My other colleagues were Julia and Faizal.. Julia looks like a very proper, organised and nice person and she really is but she can also say things that you wouldn't imagine which sometimes can be related to sex but overall she is a simple and a nice person to talk to.. Faizal on the other hand is the fun guy of the department.. like talking to him.. at first i thought he was arrogant but now we always disturb each other.. Whenever I am stuck with something which got to do with excel.. he will be there to assist me.. so thanks man! and he has this accent going on.. Maybe it is because of his experience living abroad for few years.. There was something he said which made me think for a moment and I will never forget about it.. He said " work smart and not hard".. I am a person who works hard and smart but never one of them... but for my current situation, I totally agree with him! You work harder.. the faster you go back home and the lesser you will be paid as wages are paid by hourly basis..

BUT.. there will be a twist here.. Just when I started to get comfortable with this job.. I will be starting off something new next week.. I got a job as a Accounts Assistant and the pay is higher than my current one.. and I have accepted the job.. Although I like my colleagues in Pulse but I don't really like my job..I don't mind handling people and facing challenges talking to them and I have gotten use to them faster than I could imagine.. Maybe that is the reason why.. there is no more challenge and my job has become a routine... besides.. getting scolded and being the slamned the phone on your face is not a nice thing to experience especially when you have to experience it almost everyday.. and by now I am totally freaked out when I see the telephone.. but I have learnt many valuable lessons from this job and I have learnt to be more thick skinned... Being thick skinned can be a good thing also you know! If you would want to ask me.. why? Well.. Go figure!

OO yeah, I also got another job which I have turned down.. It was a tutoring job .. A job which I wanted for a long time and a job which I wll definitely accept and do it with much compassion and pride.. but unfortunately the timetable given to me was too cramped up and it will cause me to lose a lot of precious time with my mum as every Saturday I will be teaching from 1 pm to 9 pm.. and on weekdays I will have to teach from 7 to 10 pm... when will I have time for myself? This is madness.. Well some people may say they can do it like the person who interviewed me... but you all don't have commitments and you all don't have other things to do other than teaching.. So you can't ask me to live life like how you all do..that is totally unfair.. ( I realised this after thinking again what did that Man say when he interviewed me and how he responded me when I said that the timetable were too packed)..Mum advised me not to take the job as it is not the wise thing to do although she knew that I love teaching.. anyway, I agreed with her and turned down the offer politely..

Things to come... Hmm... Aminda is organising a Sunway Lagoon outing and Bernard on the other hand is organising a Genting trip with me..We invited almost 10 people..Lets hope it wouldn't be a flop but I am quite positive about it judging from the positive replies we are receiving from our friends.... Not to mention, my own family had set that on the 21-23 of March, we will be going to Cherating... I think this will not only be the best moments of my life but also an educational one to me as I will be facing a different kind of challenges in my new job.. Lets hope everything goes well..

Mei Jean... Jonathan.... Alicia.. Don't say I didn't update my blog.. but sorry la guys.. really didn't have time to do that...I hope this blog is long enough to hurt your eyes by reading it.... Hhahhhahaaa...Joking.. xD
