Monash~ A New Beginning

Okay, the title says it all..

Basically this week was orientation and it was a fun-filled week I guess. One thing I want to say is that Monash University surprised me..I mean I was very impressed with the facilities they provide there and not to mention the environment of the campus. In addition to that, I am also very excited to start my university life ( Yes.. I am quite lazy to start all over again and study study study) because I am already planning how I am going to live my life there and how to study well.. I have decided that I will make full use of my stay there as I will participate in more activities this time but also be sensible enough to use my time wisely. O yeah, planning to take up some dancing.. Haha.. There's this Latin dance workshop.. I might be joining it..

Okay back to orientation. The whole week was okay.. at the beginning I didn't get to know anyone as I was still shy and didn't dare to approach anyone ( judging from how my faculty mates potray themselves... they look kinda arrogant and quiet).. and then when the end of the week approaches, I managed to make a few new friends who were from Penang and even Indonesia. Haha.. Basically I am getting very "international" in Monash.. Hmm.. the week started off with introduction to the campus and MUSA(Monash University Student Association) and then proceeded with the course briefing. The Buddies, also our seniors were not only helpful but very friendly too.. I began to feel at home.. Sunway/Subang didn't leave me with sweet memories as I was previously from Taylor's.. Lets put it this way, I didn't enjoy my stay at Taylor's due to some reasons(the college was freaking far away).. and coincidently Monash is also situated in Sunway.. I was quite hesistant to go to Monash at first as it is very far away from my house but with the warm welcome given by the Monash Community and by taking the NPE highway ( which made my journey to Sunway shorter by 20 minutes).. I was able to put myself together and prepare myself to face the new challenges there.. O yeah, I forgot to mention this.. I was also very happy to know that 2 of my friends were in the same intake as me.. My best friend,Bernard and My collegemate Mei Jean. The situation got even better when Mei Jean was taking the same course as me(She is taking Biomedics,Unfortunately we will be seeing each other a lot only in the first year).. So, I have my so called 'gang' there... Haha.. but I have to suffer Mei Jean's voice for the next 4 years.. Hehe.. Joking joking... don't be angry yeah, Jean? Haha.. I know you are reading this.. As said earlier, I got to know few new friends.. and one of them was this guy namednWarren.. There goes Mei Jean... teasing me again with her latest cooked up story..Unfortunately, supported by Bernard as well.. Sighs.. see what friends do to you nowadays.. and not to forget, Miss Mei Jean actually had the guts to take someone's exposed underwear picture and post it in her blog and started commenting about it.. OMG this Mei Jean.. she is such a character.. hahaha..The orientation week ended with MOlympics which was fun.. I participated in the blindfolded football event and had a "great" time shouting to navigate my teammates.. Basically, it was an exciting day and I sufferred from sun burn.. I looked like a lobster at the end of the day as my face was really red..

In conclusion, I didn't expect Monash University to have such a high standard judging from where I came from.. and I am all ready to start a new chapter of my life there.. I hope for the next 4 years, my life wouldn't be miserable studying since I will be doing double degrees of Biomedical Science and Biotechnology.. ( I am practically looking at the course outline now which I pasted on my white board).. Year 2 will be hell ... I just hope I'll be able to manage my time well.. but other than that, I am being very optimistic about things to come.. Ancora Imparo!!!

Yours truly,
VicK
